POLICE & CRIME COMMISSIONER ELECTIONS
On the 5th May 2016 former Gloucestershire Superintendent and Gloucestershire NARPO Branch Member Martin Surl, Gloucestershire’s first Police & Crime Commissioner, again standing as an Independent Candidate, was re elected for a further 4 year term, beating Conservative and Labour Candidates in an increased election turn out .
He will continue to hold the Chief Constable to account on behalf of the people of Gloucestershire.
His Office will be overseen by the Police and Crime Panel.The Panel has an important function in scrutinising and monitoring closely the performance of the Crime Commissioner.
