Dear Members… The below has been circulated to all Branches by NARPO HQ’s.

Good Morning All,

I hope this email finds you well.

I wanted to bring to your attention an important matter that was raised during the September NEC meeting by No 7 Region, regarding a petition to make the National Bus Passes UK wide. After further discussion with our LLA partners, we are circulating the petition, should Branches and members wish to get involved. The petition can be viewed here: https://chng.it/j5TwtZmjxS

Many thanks

Friday 23rd June 2023 will see the start of Coldcroft Shires Three Counties Challenge 2023, which will see Jamie Alcock drive his two shire horses – Willam and Millie  – across Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire in the space of three weeks.

The epic 180-mile effort is in memory of Jamie’s brother PC John Alcock, who sadly died in 2017 – 14 years after suffering catastrophic injuries while on duty. It is the third event of its type and Jamie will be looking to add to the £60,000+ he has raised for charity over the past two years, with Police Care UK, The Samaritans and The RAF Association the key beneficiaries of this year’s effort.

Dear Members,

Sadly the below has been received from NARPO HQ’s

Circulated to Branch Secretaries

This morning , we received the judgment from Mr Justice Fordham who dismissed the claims but granted the permission to appeal on two specified grounds; the application of the right to marry and the Judge’s decision on justification.

The President and myself have been in discussions with our legal team and Connect regarding the implications of this judgment.

Connect has prepared a press statement which is on our website, along with the judgment – https://www.narpo.org/widows-pension-life/

We will be discussing these matters and the next steps with the Police Federation next week.
